Abdullah passed away at around six years of age. Some narrations mention that a rooster pecked him in the eye or face, causing a severe infection that led to his death days later.
The Prophet ﷺ grieved his death deeply, as did his parents, especially since Ruqayyah had also died shortly after the Battle of Badr. The sorrow was immense for Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him).

Abdullah was buried in Medina. It is said that the Prophet ﷺ prayed over him and personally attended his funeral. His death was one of the personal trials the Prophet ﷺ faced during his lifetime, as he lost all his children except Fatimah during his life.
