Names of the Female Companions Promised Paradise

[table_of_contet]
Throughout Islamic history, many of the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) female companions of the Prophet Muhammad were known for their faith, sacrifice, and service to Islam.
Among them were women who received the highest honor, being promised Paradise during their lifetimes. This article highlights the Mothers of the Believers and other righteous women who were given glad tidings of Paradise by the Prophet himself.
Female Companions Promised Paradise from Among the Mothers of the Believers
The Mothers of the Believers held a great status, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) praised them uniquely. The Prophet (peace be upon him) gave glad tidings of Paradise to some of his wives. This is clarified as follows:
Khadijah bint Khuwaylid
She is the lady of the women of the worlds and the Mother of the Believers from the Asadi branch of Quraysh: Khadijah bint Khuwaylid ibn Asad ibn Abdul-Uzza ibn Qusai ibn Kilab, the mother of al-Qasim, and the first wife of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). She was the first to believe in the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his message. She was known for her wisdom and chastity, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not marry any other woman during her lifetime.
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) gave her glad tidings of a house in Paradise, as narrated by Abdullah ibn Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him): “Give glad tidings to Khadijah of a house in Paradise made of pearls, where there is neither noise nor fatigue”. The "pearls" here refer to hollowed-out pearls.
Aisha bint Abi Bakr as-Siddiq
She is the Mother of the Believers and the daughter of the close companion and beloved friend of the Prophet (peace be upon him): Aisha bint Abi Bakr as-Siddiq ibn Abi Quhafa. Her mother was Umm Ruman bint Amir. She was the most beloved of all people to the Prophet (peace be upon him), and the only virgin he married.
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) had many virtues. The Prophet (peace be upon him) gave her glad tidings of Paradise, as she narrated: “Jibreel came with her image in a green silk cloth to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said, 'This is your wife in this world and the Hereafter'”. This was her glad tidings from Allah of Paradise.
Hafsah bint Umar ibn al-Khattab
She is the Mother of the Believers Hafsah, daughter of al-Farooq Umar ibn al-Khattab. Her mother was Zaynab bint Maz'un. The Prophet (peace be upon him) married her after the Battle of Badr. She was a devout worshiper, often fasting and praying. She was given glad tidings of Paradise after the Prophet (peace be upon him) divorced her once. Then Jibreel (peace be upon him) instructed the Prophet to take her back.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Jibreel came to me and said: Take Hafsah back, for she is fasting, praying, and she is your wife in Paradise”.
Zaynab bint Jahsh
She is the Mother of the Believers Zaynab bint Jahsh, the cousin of the Prophet (peace be upon him); her mother was Ummaymah bint Abdul-Muttalib "One of the Aunts of the Prophet Muhammad". She was first married to Zayd ibn Harithah, and then Allah Himself married her to the Prophet (peace be upon him) through a verse in the Qur’an, without a guardian or witnesses. The verse of hijab was revealed concerning her.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) gave her glad tidings of Paradise. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: “I asked the Messenger of Allah: Who among us will follow you the soonest? He said: The one with the longest hand”. They measured arms, and Sawda was found to have the longest. Later, they realized that "longest hand" meant generosity in charity. Zaynab was known for her giving and was the first to follow him after his death.
Female Companions Promised Paradise Outside of the Mothers of the Believers
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) also gave glad tidings of Paradise to other female Companions beyond the Mothers of the Believers, due to their role in spreading the Islamic message. Among them are:

- Nusaybah bint Ka’b (Umm Ammarah)
- Umm Ruman bint Amir (Umm Ayman)
- Barakah bint Tha’labah

- Kabshah bint Rafi’ (mother of Sa’d ibn Mu’adh – may Allah be pleased with him)
- Al-Furay’ah bint Malik
- Umm al-Mundhir bint Qays
- Asma’ bint Yazid ibn as-Sakan
- Umm Hisham bint Harithah
