Fatimah Al Zahra (may Allah be pleased with her) held an excellent position in the heart of her father, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), a position unmatched by anyone else. He (peace be upon him) would openly declare and take pride in his love for her. The following are some instances that illustrate the greatness and depth of Fatimah's position in the heart of her father (peace be upon him).

The Prophet's Hadith to Fatimah Before His Death

It is narrated by Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that Fatimah came to her father (peace be upon him) one day, and he welcomed her and seated her beside him. Then, he drew close to her and spoke to her privately until Fatimah cried. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) asked her, "Why are you crying?" Then he whispered something to her, and she smiled. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "I have never seen a day happier than today, closer to sadness. I asked her what he said, and she replied, 'I would not disclose the secret of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) until the Prophet (peace be upon him) passed away'. So, I asked her, and she said, 'He confided in me that Gabriel used to review the Quran with him once every year, but this year he did it twice, and I do not see him except at my time of death, and you are the first of my household to join me. So I cried, and he said, 'Would you not be pleased to be the leader of the women of Paradise or the believers?' So I smiled at that".

The Prophet's Position on Ali's Marriage Proposal to His Daughter Fatimah

The Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him) was keen on the well-being of Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), ensuring her heart remained free from distress or harm. When she came to him (may Allah be pleased with her) to express her concern about Ali Ibn Abi Talib's (may Allah be pleased with him) proposal to marry the daughter of Abu Jahl while she was under his guardianship, the Prophet (peace be upon him) wasted no time.

After taking witness, he stated: "As for the marriage proposal, I have married Abu Al-'Aas ibn Al-Rabiah. He came and testified truthfully to me. Indeed, Fatimah, the daughter of Muhammad, is a part of me, and I detest to see her distressed. By Allah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah and the daughter of the enemy of Allah will never be combined under the guardianship of one man". He then allowed Ali to break off the engagement.

Kissing and Standing for Her

The Prophet's special love for Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) and his respect and deep affection for her were evident in many instances in his life. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated, "Whenever Fatimah entered the presence of the Prophet (peace be upon him), he would stand up for her, kiss her, and seat her in his place. Likewise, when the Prophet (peace be upon him) entered her presence, she would stand up from her place, kiss him, and seat him in her place".

Her Title as "The Mother of Her Father's Children"

The Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him) bestowed upon Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) the title "The Mother of Her Father's Children" as an expression of affection and endearment towards her (may Allah be pleased with her).

Inclusion of Her, Her Husband, and Her Children in His Prayers and Garment

The Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him) singled out Fatimah, her husband, and her children for his prayers. Um Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said to Fatimah, "Bring your husband and your two sons to me".

So she brought them, and he covered them with his garment. Then he placed his hand over them and said, "O Allah, these are the members of my household. Remove impurity from them and purify them completely". Umm Salama said, "And I was sitting near them, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "You are in a good place".

Introduction of Lady Fatimah

Fatimah is the youngest daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), born to Khadijah bint Khuwaylid (may Allah be pleased with her) before the advent of Islam for five years. She bore five children: Hasan, Husayn, Muhsin, Umm Kulthum, and Zainab. She (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated some hadiths from the Messenger of Allah. The Prophet (peace be upon him) counted her among the best women of Paradise, saying, "Fatimah is the chief of the women of Paradise". She passed away on a Tuesday night in the eleventh year after Hijra, at the age of twenty-nine or thereabout.
